INFORMATION
The Andijan Regional Legal College was established as a legal technical college based on the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated April 13, 2018, under Resolution No. PQ-3666 «On organizational measures to further improve the activities of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan» and later, according to the Decree No. PF-5987 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated April 29, 2020, «On additional measures to radically improve legal education and science in the Republic of Uzbekistan.»
The Andijan Regional Legal College is the only educational institution in the region providing legal education.
Currently, the college trains mid-level legal professionals for state and economic management bodies in three specializations: Legal Services, Judicial Legal Activities, and State Legal Activities.
The college offers both full-time and part-time education, with students accepted on a paid contract basis as well as through state grants. The educational process is organized based on the credit-module system, inspired by the advanced practices of foreign countries. The duration of study is 2 years.
To ensure the harmony between theory and practice, judges, lawyers, and other professionals working in law enforcement agencies conduct practical lessons for students.
What jobs can students get after graduating from the college?
Graduates of the college can work in the following positions based on their specializations:
- Court assistant, archivist, state executor at enforcement agencies, second-class inspector at the Civil Registration Offices (ZAGS), case manager, and archivist.
- Assistant notary, secretary, and private notary office staff.
- Operator at State Service Centers.
- Assistant lawyer at law firms.
- Inspector in prosecution offices, among other positions.
What privileges are there for students of the college?
- According to the order of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 4, 2021, “On the establishment of the Ministry of Justice Scholarship for students of legal colleges of the Ministry of Justice,” five students from the first year with the best academic performance are awarded the «Minister of Justice Scholarship.» These students are paid a monthly stipend during the academic year.
- According to the resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated November 22, 2021, and January 11, 2022, graduates who achieve high results can enter bachelor’s programs of higher education institutions specializing in «Jurisprudence» without entrance exams through an individual interview.
For reference, the following students were accepted into universities as per the above resolutions:
- In the 2020-2021 academic year, one graduate.
- In the 2021-2022 academic year, two students.
- In the 2022-2023 academic year, three students.
- In the 2023-2024 academic year, one student.
Additionally, 16 students were accepted into various higher education institutions in the same period.
Further Educational Opportunities:
The Tashkent State University of Law has signed agreements with law universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus. According to these agreements, graduates of the legal college who pass the required exams will have the opportunity to continue their studies at these institutions.
For instance, a graduate of the 2021-2022 academic year and another from the 2023-2024 academic year are currently continuing their studies in International Law and Comparative Jurisprudence at Tashkent State Law University and the Ural State University of Law.
Admission Process and Exams
According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 24, 2024, starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, the admission exams for higher and vocational education institutions will be held simultaneously under the “test first, then selection” principle. The documents for college admission are accepted from June 5 to June 25 each year via the Unified Interactive State Services Portal (my.gov.uz) or the website of the Agency for Education and Skills Assessment (my.uzbmb.uz).
The entrance exams are held in July-August by the Agency for Education and Skills Assessment.
The entrance exams will include both compulsory subjects (Mathematics, Native Language, and History of Uzbekistan) and specialization subjects (Jurisprudence and Foreign Language).
Applicants who have a B2-level or higher state or international language certification will be exempt from the foreign language entrance exam.
